Yearn.finance is a service that helps investors in decentralised finance (DeFi) make the most money from yield farming by using automation.
Its goal is to make the ever-growing DeFi space easier to understand for investors who aren't tech-savvy or who want to be less committed than serious traders.
The service, which went live in February 2020 and used to be called iEarn, has grown a lot in the past few months as new products have come out and developers have released their own token, YFI.
Yearn.finance was created by Andre Cronje. After leaving the iEarn project in February 2020, Cronje came back to oversee a rebirth, with new tools coming out and YFI going live in July.
Since then, the company's luck has changed. As of the end of September 2020, the total value of its locked assets was just over $1 billion.
Yearn.finance wanted to make it easier for investors in general to invest in DeFi and do things like "yield farming."
