Improve Sales with a Corporate Video

The world is obsessed with videos currently.  Whether you waste too much time watching silly Tik Tok videos that make you laugh or watch 'how to' videos on YouTube to help you fix a problem at home, we are all watching videos on a daily basis.   

An article on Oberlo states that "In 2019, users spent a weekly average of 6 hours 48 minutes watching online videos". I don’t have the statistics for 2020 but I assume with everyone in Lockdown at some point in the year due to COVID-19, this viewing time will have increased. Although we are all now back at work, people still continue videos and that trend doesn't seem to be slowing down. 

So how can this help your business?

It has been proven that if a customer can watch a video about a product, they are more likely to have the confidence to buy it.

 

2.Increased Time On Your Website

Google will rank a website more highly if it can see customers spend a lot of time on it.  Therefore, if you are giving potential customers the opportunity to watch videos about your products or services on your website your average session time will increase and hopefully your rankings.

 

3.Customer Trust & Confidence

Watching a video about a product, service, or your company can give potential customers the confidence to buy from you. Seeing the real people behind a company adds a lot of trust in the company. 

4.Brand Awareness

Unlike advertising in a newspaper that gets thrown away, a video will last for as long as you want it to.  It can be uploaded to your website and social sites where it can be watched and shared.  If you are very lucky it can go viral.  The more people that see your video, the more your brand or business becomes known, even if it is subconsciously. Instead of relying on a few people seeing your newspaper advert on a particular date, the number of people seeing your video will grow as you share it and post it.

'How To' Videos

You can direct customers to your website by creating a section of useful ‘how to’ videos. 

For example, if you sell computer software, you could create short videos on how to set up the software or how to use it.  Having this useful information may be enough to make someone choose to buy your software instead of another product. 

For customers who already own the software, it is a great way to sell upgrades if you have a video showing what they can achieve with the upgrade.

 

Brand Promotional Videos

A video about your brand, business and the people behind it.  If you are a new business, it helps build trust to find out more about the business and see that it is a real business and not a fake. Even established businesses, use this type of video to promote changes in their organisation.  Maybe you have introduced some new environmentally friendly processes or policies and you want to show your customers and potential new customers that you have great green credentials.

 

Product Website Videos

Product videos are used to increase sales.  Clothing companies show very short videos of models wearing the product so that you can see how it hangs on a person as they walk and move.  If you are trying to sell a product, a short video showing it being used is a fantastic way to increase sales. 

In short, videos can help improve your sales in many ways from general advertising to very specific technical explainer videos.
