How to connect a wireless router and modem
Generally, the login address of each brand of router is usually marked on a sticker on the back of the router, which records the address, password, serial number, etc. of the router management page.

Combined modems, read carefully, "Combined", which means that the main function of a modem is to connect to the Internet, while providing WiFi is not the main function of a modem.

The modem provides limited device WiFi connectivity. If you have a lot of equipment in your home

"You need WiFi, and your modem can't fit that much.".

The modem is always installed outside your room, such as at your doorstep. When you enter the room, you will notice that the WiFi signal is weak.

Most ISPs provide gigabit fiber modems that only support 2.4 G mode. Therefore, installing optical fibers with a speed exceeding 100 megabytes can affect the download speed of devices connected to wireless networks. Assuming a 100M fiber optic connection, the download speed will not exceed 10M/s through a 2.4 G mode connection.

In addition, ISP sometimes won't help you solve wireless router problems. They are only responsible for their own modems.

So, should I buy a separate router?

This decision ultimately depends on yourself, on what you want. If you're satisfied with your combined modem and you don't want any additional features it doesn't provide, you may just want to stick with the box that your ISP gave you. It's just easier to set up and use.

On the other hand, if you want the latest wireless hardware or additional features, you can obtain them by purchasing your own router and connecting it to a modem. You are trading some simplicity for more features and options.
