Tiktok to hire 3,000 engineers
The Chinese short-form video platform, TikTok is planning to hire around 3000 engineers from locations across the world including the United States. As other tech giants are laying off employees as a part of restructuring, TikTok is in the middle of a three-year hiring push. TikTok Chief Executive Shou Zi Chew says, "We have always been more cautious in terms of recruitment. We're still hiring, although at the pace that we think has to correspond with the global challenges that we're facing."

TikTok is looking to increase the size of its American engineering hub, which is its biggest and already has more than a 1000 engineers. The recruiters have also approached people who have been recently laid off from rival companies such as Twitter and Meta. The company also intends to expand its commercialization team as well as its e-commerce team. TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance is also continuing to hire people in China, with some of the new hires working on TikTok and others helping ByteDance develop chips, reports The Wall Street Journal.
