A set that's available in the game Diablo
Game Director Joe Shely explains during a recent roundtable that reimagining sets in a way that is compatible with Diablo 4 properly wouldn't be likely to be available for launch until next year, even though the team is looking at the possibility of incorporating them into their live streaming service Diablo 4 Gold.
"As we've been working on the game, we believed that we could create sets in a completely new style that's similar to what we've observed from Diablo 3. We needed additional time to incorporate them in a way that would blend well with the other elements of Diablo 4, so you won't see sets at launch in the game," Shely explains. "We believe that sets are awesome, and we'd like to be sure that they're done right - therefore we're looking over for our Live service."
"There's a legendary staff member that is in the demo, which transforms the spell's fireball in triple fireball spells," the former director of games Luis Barriga told Polygon(opens in new tab) back in 2019. "The thing that's different is that, as you can imagine it's a set that's available in the game Diablo 3 gives you bonuses that are a lot more than the thousands. We're attempting to design the game right now to be a little bit more constrained to avoid being caught in that expanding Power Curve."
If you're not familiar, Set Items are generally strong parts of gear that give greater power when they are put together. They're called "set" because they are always able to provide the same advantages, and, of course they're part of the same set. They were first introduced in Diablo 2, though it was 3 that they became really dominant buy Diablo IV Gold. It is yet to be determined how they'll impact their impact on the Diablo 4 meta should they come to the game, but there is no doubt that their influence on the growing fashion scene will be felt.
