2024 Honda CR V Hybrid Racer-
The Honda CR-V Hybrid Racer is a preview of the hybrid powertrains that will be available for the 2024 IndyCar season. The IndyCar twin-turbo V-6 is paired with an electric motor and a supercapacitor—a component first seen in the Lamborghini Sián—to provide around 800 horsepower. The CR-V Hybrid Racer will make its public premiere this weekend at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg before touring the other circuits on the 2023 IndyCar season.
The CR-V Hybrid Racer’s dramatic styling was inspired by Group B rally cars from the 1980s, and while the windscreen and greenhouse are normal CR-V components, the lower bodywork, including hefty wing flares, is custom-designed from carbon fibre. The car has tremendous aerodynamics, with a massive rear wing, a sharp front splitter, and sleek side skirts. The interior is accessed by half-size butterfly doors.
Electrification Of Honda Crv-
Honda is, at heart, an engineering company, as it likes to remind us in commercials showcasing its diverse product lineup, which includes everything from cars to outboard motors to aeroplanes.
The automaker also has a long history in motorsports, currently supplying engines to five IndyCar teams, which will use hybrid power units in the 2024 season. Honda turned its engineers loose to construct the CR-V Hybrid Racer, which Honda describes as a “rolling laboratory” that delivers a “sneak preview” of the future age of IndyCar racing.
