WHAT TO DO WHEN DOG TRAINING DOESN'T GO AS PLANNED?
While training a dog is essential and can make a difference, it can be equally important to have fun with your dog in all kinds of ways.

Sometimes, dog training doesn't go as planned. You might have to rethink your goal or change your approach in these situations. For example, if you've been trying to get your dog's attention on a specific command for hours but nothing is working out, maybe it's time to reconsider the goal and enjoy the process instead. It would help if you tried working on explaining what you want and why it matters (as well as when) before giving up. Very often, this step leads to success! Remember that there is no pressure on either of you when training a dog—your job is not made more complicated because they are learning at their own pace too! Keep teaching them things fun and exciting so they remember how much work went into their new skill set.

While training a dog is essential and can make a difference, it can be equally important to have fun with your dog in all kinds of ways. A happy, well-adjusted dog is often more likely to succeed in Training than an overly tense or anxious one! Consider what your puppy likes to do, and always watch for opportunities to play fun games (such as name games) that will help motivate them as they learn new things.

What NOT To Do When Training A Dog:
1. Use excessive force or physical corrections (such as leash jerks) when training a dog. If training doesn't go as expected, don't give up on your goal!
2. Calmly tell the dog what you want and remind them every time. Dogs are susceptible to anything that sounds like it may be coming from a genuinely unhappy person. They pick up on this and want to learn what they are taught.
3. Feel too much pressure to do something great in the next lesson. Just have fun and keep it fun!
4. Use force in a " shaming " way when training a dog. Dogs are susceptible to humiliation and may also become discouraged by this approach.
5. Try teaching a walking command without doing so first as part of a game or exercise involving you, your dog, and their favourite toys or bones for treats! Introduce the command before asking your dog to walk on a leash!

Training a dog can be an advantageous and fun experience for humans and the dog family. Keep up with your plan but also allow them to learn at their own pace, and remind yourself that you can always work on something else until they are ready to move forward in another area! Work together every step of the way!!
