The developers who developed Diablo 4 have stressed that they don't want players to "feel that they are able to pay to win" when the game goes on sale in the coming year Diablo IV Gold.
In an earlier Diablo 4 livestream(opens in new tab) game director Joe Shely, along with associate game director Joesph Piora, as well as community manager Adam Fletcher gave fans an update on all things Diablo 4, as well as a look into the way things are going to work in advance of the game's release in the summer of next year.
During the stream they discussed what they thought of the Diablo 4 battle pass (around the 39:15 mark on the below video) and also the game's upcoming seasons. "It's really, really important to us to make sure that we're balancing with the features you'd find inside the combat pass" Piepiora told the crowd, "the way that they're challenging but are also very fair, we don't want to create situations in which players are able to feel like they can pay to win. "To make a clear distinction in between battle passes and the seasons of Diablo 4, Piepiora explained that "the season's adventure is the same present in Diablo 4, in the manner that you encountered it in Diablo 3." The chapter-based mechanics offer players a variety of objectives as they progress through the season , and it will also allow players to earn in-game rewards to their character. "All of the content for the season is available for free. The content is not tied to the battle pass itself," Shely adds.
In an effort to clarify any confusion, Shely explained that, when Diablo 4 launches on June 6, 2023, it will not be launched immediately following season one. "Season one will start a few just a few weeks after the launch of the game. the season will begin when season one begins, everyone will be starting at the same time, everyone will be on a level starting point," the developer said. The competitive aspects of Diablo 4 (e.g. : leader boards) are apparently going to appear during seasons buy Diablo 4 Gold, which means that those who don't have to pay for early access won't have to worry about unfairness.
