Currently, the VW Taigun comes with two turbo petrol engines, a 1.0-litre and a 1.5-litre. These are the same engines that are found in the Skoda Kushaq. In the Taigun, the 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor will be available only in the GT+ trim. It is also available with a six-speed torque-convertor automatic gearbox. The 1.0-litre TSI motor, however, will be available in both the GT and GT+ trims. Taigun mileage
The VW Taigun’s 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine is able to generate a peak torque of 250Nm. It pulls better than the 1.0-litre TSI at low revs. The engine also runs smoother at higher revs. The 1.0-litre TSI gets brisk in the rev band, while the 1.5-litre TSI is more relaxed.
Volkswagen Taigun’s 1.5-litre TSI motor comes with cylinder deactivation technology, which means the car stops two cylinders to cut fuel consumption. The car will also come with a seven-speed DSG gearbox. The car is a joy to drive. The gearbox shifts smoothly and there is no tangible lag between gear changes.
