Brnsted acid-base reaction

A Bronsted acid-base reaction is a substitution reaction where one base displaces another. The displaced base forms a weaker acid. The Bronsted acid is a base that can accept and donate protons. It is the proton-accepting counterpart of a Lewis acid.
