How To Give Yourself A Neck Massage With Sandhi Sudha Oil?
Neck pain is quite a common issue. Office workers, students and housewives often complain of neck pain. And the best remedy for neck pain relief is a good old massage. A self massage commonly requires you to use your hands to manipulate the muscles and tendons in order to increase blood circulation, reduce muscle tension, and generally make you feel better.
But here’s the big question - how can you do a proper self-massage to relieve your neck and shoulder pain?

Well, the following are a few techniques you can try:

1.     Direct Massage

Lower your shoulders and keep them in a straight line. Keep your back and neck straight. Figure out the painful areas on your neck. Press firmly using your fingers and gently move your fingers in circular motions. In the opposite direction do the same step. Keep doing this for 3-5 minutes.

2.     Spine massage

Let your fingers run downward along either side of your spine. Find your spine on the back of your neck using your fingers moving them 1⁄2 inch -1 inch outward. Begin massaging from the base of your skull. Apply medium to deep pressure as you slide your fingers downward until you reach the area where your neck connects with your shoulders. Now again move your fingers outward from your spine about 1⁄2 inch after every 2 or 3 strokes. If you feel any knots while moving your fingers, work on them while applying a gentle pressure. Do this for at least 10 seconds.

3.     Back massage

Sit in a comfortable chair with your back straight. Put your palms on either side of your neck. Let your head fall backward a bit and before gently dropping to the left. Squeeze the left back muscles of your neck so that they feel hard but still good. After this, let your head drop gently towards the right, squeezing the right back muscles of your neck. Keep squeezing the right and left side muscles beginning from the bottom of your neck and slowly moving upward.

4.     Neck stretch

Look down and bring your chin closer to your chest and stretch the back of your neck. Stand up straight with your feet on the ground, shoulder-width apart. Keep your arms relaxed at your sides. Deeply inhale into your diaphragm before lowering your chin to your chest. Now, hold the position while exhaling for 5 slow counts. Bring your head back to the original position and repeat this stretch 5-10 times per day or whenever you feel neck strain.

Stretching out your neck will ease the tension in your muscles and make your self-massage more effective in terms of pain relief. It is also important to stretch and massage your neck at least once a day to relieve headaches and migraines caused by neck tension. This is an amazing stretch to do at work—especially if you’re stuck sitting all day.

While massaging, it is important to use the right massage oil. We recommend Sandhi Sudha ayurvedic joint pain relief oil.
