What Accessories Can Kellyway Provide For Rotary Drilling Rigs?

Depending on the type of rotary drilling rig you have, there are a variety of different accessories that you can purchase. Some of these include a Hutte rotary head, a circulating system, and drill pipe.

Circulating system

Typical rig circulating system includes mud pumps, mud pids, mud tanks and contaminant removal equipment for rock auger. This circulating system works like a close-loop electric circuit. It starts at the pump manifold, circulates drilling fluid through the drillstring and drill pipe, and then returns the pumped drilling fluid back to the wellbore.

Mud pumps are the heart of the circulating system. They circulate the mud down the drillstring to the bit. The mud is a mixture of clay and water. It is usually treated with chemicals.

The rotary hose is connected to a kelly bushing, which is part of the rotary table. Its outside cross-section is hexagonal. It is designed to fit inside the master bushing of the rotary table. It has four openings. Rollers within the kelly bushing allow the bushing to move. It also serves as a connecting point between the rotary hose and the rotary system.

The kelly is the first section of pipe below the swivel. It is left-handed on the upper end and right-handed on the lower end. It is also hexagonal.

The swivel is the connecting link between the rotary system and the circulating system. It must be robust. It also must have a high pressure seal. This is important to prevent the swivel from leaking.

The swivel is also used as a fluid seal. It must be robust and be able to withstand the pressure of the circulating system.

Drill pipe

Using a kelly in the context of a rotary drilling rig is nothing short of a feat of engineering. It is a splined or polygonal section of pipe that slides vertically into a corresponding bushing. It is part of a draw-works and is a must have in the field of fracturing the earth.

The kelly is the upper most component of the drill string. It is the oh so named for good reason - it is an extra heavy joint of pipe. It is square or hexagonal in shape with a varying number of flat sides. It can be made of steel like kelly swivel, Chiksan or polymers. It is most often used in the oil and gas industry as it is robust and can take the wear and tear of a job well done.

The kelly's most important role is to impart a sense of torque to the rotary table. This torque is transferred to the rest of the drill string via a swivel and gooseneck pipe. The kelly's most obvious role is to allow the drill string to move up and down the length of the kelly as it rotates. The most common kelly is 40 feet in length, with a length of 50 feet being the sweet spot.

The oh so named kelly is the most expensive component of the rig. It has a left-hand thread that prevents it from twisting off. It also has a saver sub.

Hutte rotary heads

Whether you need to drill for geothermal energy or water wells, Hutte rotary heads and accessories for rotary drilling rigs provide you with a high performance and robust solution. Using these tools, you can drill through a variety of rock types and soils. They also offer various outputs to fit your needs.

The XRH rotary heads are designed for reverse circulation and overburden drilling applications. These heads are highly powerful and deliver up to 27,000 Nm of torque. They can be easily integrated into a wide range of existing rigs. They are also available in single and double hydraulic drifter configurations. They are suitable for large diameter reverse circulation drilling applications such as Casing driver.

The XRH rotary head is also available in a full radio-controlled version. It offers full control of the drill rig, according to the latest safety requirements. Its compact design makes it an ideal solution for a variety of geological conditions.

The M3-2 magazine can hold five metre casings and 5m rods. It is operated from the cabin of the rig. It has an optimized mast-to-boom link to offer a good slewing capability. It can be upgraded with additional useful features. The head has synthetic seals to protect it from environmental elements.

The MI80 drilling rig is suitable for coring, geothermal, and seismic applications. It is equipped with a compressor, mud pump, and a telescopic mast for handling 9m drill pipe. It is also available as a custom-built rig to meet specific client requirements. It has a compact design to allow truck mounting.
