1 Day Tour from Edinburgh
Edinburgh is a fantastic city to visit but if you only have a few days to spend in Scotland, we highly recommend including a tour of Scotland. If you come from a large country like the USA or even a large European country like Germany or France, it may sound crazy to include a tour of Scotland. However, we can assure you that we can show you a great selection of what Scotland has to offer in just one day.

The Hairy Coo was founded in 2010 by 2 Scottish tour guides who were passionate about sharing their love for their country with the rest of the world. To this day, all of our tour guides feel the same about Scotland and want their visitors to leave with a little bit of Scotland in their hearts.
You can easily spend a few days in Edinburgh enjoying the sites and scenery, visiting Edinburgh Castle and exploring the old town. However, Scotland has much more to offer including stunning scenery that changes as you travel North. As people passionate about our country we don't want you to miss out and find yourself going home only experiencing Edinburgh.
Loch Ness Tour from Edinburgh

If you are only spending a few days in Scotland, we highly recommend our 1-Day Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands, Glencoe and Ben Nevis Tour. Yes, that does sound like a lot, and yes, we can confirm that we pack in as much as possible on this tour. You may end the tour a bit tired but most of our visitors end it wanting more. We get many visitors who then book another of our day trips or return another year for a longer tour.
The tour begins in central Edinburgh at 8am. We travel west and north past Stirling Castle, through the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, over Rannoch Moor, and through Glencoe and Fort William. Our most northerly point is at Loch Ness before we return to Edinburgh, driving through the Cairngorms National Park and visiting Pitlochry. We usually arrive back in central Edinburgh at 8.30pm.

But don't worry you won't be stuck on a coach all day. We ensure we have stops at regular intervals where you can get off the coach and stretch your legs. Our aim is to have a stop every 40 minutes to 1 hour. At Fort Augustus, which sits by Loch Ness, we stop for around 2 hours so that you can have a longer walk, a leisurely lunch, or take a boat trip.
During the trip, your Scottish tour guide will enthrall you with tales and historic facts about William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. They will also show you where famous films and TV programmes were filmed such as Skyfall and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
You will see Scotland's highest mountain Ben Nevis and maybe even our famous Loch Ness monster, Nessie!
There will be time to do a little shopping for refreshments and gifts in the lovely town of Callander.
Our name, The Hairy Coo, comes from the beautiful Highland Cows that you may meet on your travels. You may also hear them referred to as Heilan Coos. Large as they are, they are usually friendly.

We hope to meet you soon on our 1-Day Loch Ness Tour from Edinburgh.
