Coverage for mobile homes?
Your mobile home insurance policy should include "other structures coverage" for detached buildings, such as a shed or fence, on your property or lot but not related to the mobile home.

In general, a policy for a mobile home will include the following protections:

Dwelling: Mobile home dwelling coverage pays to repair or replace your house and any permanently connected structures, such as a deck or awning, if damaged or destroyed by a covered peril.

Constructions of a Different Sort: Your mobile home insurance policy should include "other structures coverage" for detached buildings, such as a shed or fence, on your property or lot but not related to the mobile home.

Tangible Private Property: Your furniture, clothes, and electronics are all covered by personal property insurance. Jewelry, artwork, and other collectibles may only be protected up to a certain level; if you need more extensive protection for your valuables, you may acquire an endorsement, often called a "rider," to add them to your policy and schedule them for the appropriate amount of coverage.

Individual Accountability: If you are found legally liable for the destruction of property or the injury of another person, you may be compensated by your personal liability insurance.

Disuse Symptoms: If you cannot live in your mobile home due to a covered occurrence, you may be compensated for "loss of use," also known as "additional living expenses," subject to the policy's limitations.

Mobile home insurance—why?

Your house and possessions result from years of hard work, yet disasters like fires and particularly damaging hailstorms may wipe out all you've earned.

You are not alone if you do not have enough money saved to fix your home after a catastrophic disaster or to replace most of your belongings all at once. Mobile home insurance may assist in such situations.
