Glam Your Eyes with the Magic of Kajal - A Makeup Tutorial

We all desire to create smoky eyes, winged eyes, and other bold eyeliner looks with eye kajal. Whichever eye look you want, you can easily achieve it with practice. For all looks, you can also use a white kajal pencil on top of black eye shadow or lipstick for an extra pop!  

Here are different techniques for applying kajal to achieve a glamorous and sophisticated look. Follow these steps to get those attractive eyes-   

As cleansing and moisturization are important for face makeup, it is also essential before applying kajal. Use a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt or impurities from your skin, and follow up with a moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and supple. Pay special attention to the area around your eyes, as this is where you will be applying the kajal eye pencil.    

There are many different types of kajal available in the market, ranging from kohl pencils, gel-based liners, and colourful kajal. Choose a kajal that suits your needs and preferences. If you are new to using kajal, a kohl pencil may be a good place to start. If you want a more dramatic look, a gel-based liner and colourful kajal could be more suitable.    

Prepping is important before every makeup look. Even before applying kajal, it is essential to prepare your eyes. Use an eyeshadow primer to create a smooth base for the kajal to adhere to. You can also apply a neutral shade from eyeshadow palette to your eyelids to create a subtle contrast.  

Commonly, everyone loves to apply the kohl kajal on the lower water line. Applying kajal to this area will help to define your eyes and make them appear larger. During application, gently pull down your lower eyelid and apply the kajal to your waterline using short strokes. You can also apply the kajal to your upper and lower lash line both for a more dramatic look.  

Often people apply kajal on only the lower line. Applying kajal to your upper waterline can create a bold and dramatic look. Gently lift your upper eyelid and apply the kajal to your waterline using short strokes. This technique is known as tightening. Be careful not to stretch the eye much, as this may hurt the eye.   

To create a softer and smokier look, you can smudge your kajal using a small smudging brush or with the tip of an earbud. Gently blend the kajal along your lower lash line and your upper waterline, taking care not to smudge it too much.  

If you desire to create those magnetic eyes, curl your eyelashes using an eyelash curler to open up your eyes and create a more dramatic look. Apply mascara to your lashes to give them volume and length. You can also apply false lashes for a more dramatic effect.  

A setting spray is an important product in the makeup vanity. A setting spray ensures the makeup stays in place the whole day. This will help to lock in your kajal and prevent it from smudging or fading.
